What Choice Would You Make If You Could See the Energetic Consequence?

Writer's picture: Cecilia HendrixCecilia Hendrix

Have you ever thought about how different your choices might be if you could actually see the energetic consequences of each one? I recently came across this idea in Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Myss, and it absolutely blew my mind.

It actually inspired me to create an episode of my podcast, Unleashing Happiness, where I talk about how your reactions shape your life and what you can do to shift your energy in a way that aligns with the person you want to become.

Consider: Your Reactions Drive Your Future

I talk a lot about the Law of Assumption and how it ties into emotional intelligence, emotional regulation, and your nervous system. When these elements work together, they help you create the habits of the person you want to be, ultimately leading you to the life you want to live.

Your ability to control your mood and your reactions plays a significant role in this transformation.

Coming from someone who once had little control over my emotions, I have learned that the key to becoming the person I want to be is managing how I react to my experiences. Your reactions are what determine your next steps. Imagine if you could actually see how each reaction was shaping your future—what choices would you make differently?

The Power of Your Awareness

This idea came up for me recently because of some YouTube comments I’ve been receiving. One viewer, who has been watching a lot of my content, is struggling with rebuilding a past relationship. They are finding it hard to align their energy with the relationship they desire, and they feel stuck in frustrating cycles.

This is where self-awareness becomes crucial. When you are honest with yourself about your reactions, you can begin to see whether they align with your desired outcome.

Ask yourself:

  • Does this choice align with being in a loving relationship?

  • Does it align with being the best version of myself?

  • Does it lead to feeling confident, loved, and desired?

When you start making a habit of asking these questions, you gain clarity. You realize that certain habits, behaviors, or thought patterns may be completely misaligned with the person you want to be.

Emotional Reactions as a Guide

We all have emotional reactions, even those with strong emotional regulation skills. The goal isn’t to control every thought or feeling - it’s to make a conscious choice about what to do with them.

Ask yourself:

  • How long am I going to stay in this emotion?

  • What meaning am I assigning to this feeling?

  • Where am I placing my attention?

  • How am I handling these emotions? Am I retreating inward? Engaging in self-sabotaging behaviors?

By paying attention to your reactions, you can gain insight into your current state without judging yourself. Judgment only leads to frustration and stagnation, whereas curiosity leads to growth and change.

Managing Your Moods is Key

The ability to manage your moods is essential for creating the life you want. If you find yourself thinking, 'I do all the techniques, I visualize before bed, but I wake up and can’t sustain the feeling,' know that this is completely normal.

Learning to manage emotions is a process, and it’s different from denying them.

There’s a huge difference between suppressing your emotions and choosing how to respond to them.

Emotional intelligence means recognizing what you feel, understanding its impact, and then deciding where to place your focus.

When you master this, your external circumstances stop dictating your internal state.

Power of Possibility

Let’s say you’re trying to land your dream job. You’ve applied to ten jobs, haven’t received an interview, and then you get an email saying you’re out of the running for the one you really wanted. What is your reaction in that moment? Do you see it as the end? Or do you recognize that other possibilities exist?

I’ve personally been turned down for jobs that I later ended up getting. Sometimes, a company’s first choice falls through. Sometimes, reaching out to a recruiter and expressing continued interest leads to a second chance. The point is—there are always other possibilities. Paying attention to your emotional reaction helps you remain open to them.

Habit of Awareness

Curiosity is a superpower.

Every moment of curiosity expands your mind to new possibilities.

If you feel stuck, ask yourself:

  • Why do I believe this is the end?

  • Why am I reacting this way?

  • What other possibilities exist?

The more you build the habit of reflecting, creating space, and looking for opportunities, the more you naturally start to find them. This shift in perspective leads to identity shifts, mindset changes, and new habits—step by step, without overwhelming yourself.

Ready to Manage Your Moods?

This is exactly why I created my course *Manage Your Moods: Create a Life You Love*.

I kept hearing from people that their biggest struggle was staying focused on their desired outcome. This course provides a step-by-step guide to help you develop emotional intelligence, maintain laser focus on your goals, and train your brain to remain aligned with your wish fulfilled.

If you find yourself stuck in cycles of frustration, struggling to stay focused, or unable to sustain the feelings of your desired outcome, I highly recommend checking it out. I’ve intentionally made it affordable so cost isn’t a barrier to access this transformation.
