Emotional Regulation Doesn't Mean Stop Feeling

Too often the belief that not feeling anything is the key to feeling more of what you want. That when you can ignore your internal beliefs and your own personal identity you will end up at some point in the future being able to enjoy this life you are living. Whether you call it manifestation, personal transformation, or even professional development - any change to your life comes down to how you respond to the things, events, and circumstances outside of yourself. It is all those events that you truly have no control over. Well, ok, you do have control over two things...your actions and your reactions.
How you react internally is within your control and what actions you take from that reaction is within your control.
But what does it actually mean to have everything come from within and how do you learn to remain indifferent..? Especially when the key here isn't to resist evil (or the thing you don't want) but to instead redirect your focus to your desired outcome.
It comes down to emotional regulation. Not emotional avoidance. When you learn to control your moods, truly choose your reactions, you will then see the changes in your external world you keep seeking.
Truly. the more often you control your moods and redirect your thoughts, the more you change your life.
Be careful of your moods and feelings, for there is an unbroken connection between your feelings and your visible world.

If you want to make this very simple and extremely practical start to watch the choices you make during the day.
How do you talk to yourself?
How do you spend your morning?
How do you spend your drive to work?
How do you talk to your partner?
Are you mentally arguing with someone?
Begin asking yourself:
Is the choice I am making in alignment with the life I want to be living right now or in direct opposition of it?
This simple question will cause you to pause and consider the actions you are taking and allow you the time to choose the reaction you wish to continue with.
What you consent to can only be discovered by an uncritical observation of your reactions to life. Your reactions reveal where you live psychologically; and where you live psychologically determines how you live here in the outer visible world.
- Neville Goddard, The Power of Awareness Another way I like to think of it is if I was wearing a t-shirt that said what type of life I wanted was printed on it, would my behaviors on any given day prove my shirt was right?
